Police Officers Doing Good things!
On Tuesday, Dec 8th SJPD officers escorted families/students from the River Glen Elementary School to the 2nd annual "Shop with a Cop" event.  Ten families were given $10-$100 gift cards. Starbucks donated the coffee and cookies. Everyone had a good time.  Police officers Al Rodriguez, Bobby Avila, Sal Lopez, Lt. John Rose, Veronica Damon and Darrell Cortez participated and attended the event.

NUMMI Workers Take Their Fight To Save California Jobs To San Jose Auto Show
Workers from the New United Motors Manufacturing Inc. (NUMMI) plant held an informational picket outside the San Jose Auto Show as part of their ongoing effort to keep Toyota from closing down the auto plant in April of this year.
At the auto show, NUMMI workers and supporters urged attendees to sign the petition and pledge not to purchase Toyota products unless Toyota rescinds its decision to close the NUMMI plant. If the plant closes, it would leave nearly 5,000 auto workers unemployed, and could result in as many as 50,000 jobs lost at other Bay Area employers that depend on the NUMMI plant to stay in business. Colliers continues to support local non profits at times when most needed
San Jose, CA -Colliers International along with Mark Zamudio, Industrial Group Leader and Senior Vice President with Colliers, pooled funds to make a $54,000 contribution toward the long term success of Center for Training and Careers (CTC). Founded in 1977, CTC's charter is to provide employment and education programs to residents of Santa Clara County. Every year, CTC successfully trains and places hundreds of highly productive employees throughout the Bay Area. Their successful training and placement is the direct result of involving business leaders in the development of CTC training programs.
The San Jose Redevelopment Agency in a recent press release stated, "The San Jose Redevelopment Agency and the City of San Jose partnered with CTC to rehabilitate a former commercial warehouse in the Olinder Industrial Redevelopment Project Area to accommodate CTC's new 32,000-square-foot home. The new facility has an assembly room, space for the American Indian center, administrative offices, new Fire Life safety upgrades and eight classrooms offering vocational, educational, GED programs and youth services."
