Dr. Rita Cepeda  is the New Chancellor of SJECCD
The San José/Evergreen Community College District (SJECCD) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Dr. Rita Cepeda will become the sixth permanent chancellor of the San José/Evergreen Community College District on July 15, 2010. 
Cepeda's selection follows a national search for a permanent chancellor to replace Rosa Pérez, who will retire on June 30, 2010.  Pérez has been on medical leave since November 2009. ∆

Clínica de fútbol en San José
El distrito escolar de Franklin- McKinley, la escuela secundaria de Yerba Buena y el Departamento de la Policía de San José  unen esfuerzos y organizan la clínica de fútbol gratuito este próximo 29 de Mayo. Esta clínica está dirigida a niños y jóvenes adolescentes.
La cita es en el J.W. Fair Middle School localizado en la 1702 de la avenida McLaughlin entre 9am a 12:00.
Las técnicas deportivas están a cargo del equipo de fútbol de Yerba Buena. Los asistentes recibirán balones y otros regalos sorpresa. No se necesita incribirse, tan solo presentarse y jugar. ∆

Promoción 2010
El pasado jueves 20 de mayo 32 estudiantes se graduaron del Colegio Comunitario de San José. La ceremonia contó con la presencia de el distinguido Dr. George Castro y Carmen Castellanos que representó a la Fundación Castellanos. La ceremonia tuvo lugar en la Plaza de la Herencia Mexicana. ¡ Felicidades por este gran logro! ∆

SCVWD  took action on Arizona immigration law
The Santa Clara Valley Water District Board of Directors took an action to ensure that district employees are not subjected to unfair treatment due to Arizona's immigration-related laws SB 1070 and HB 2162.
"We passed a resolution prohibiting district funds to be used for employee travel to Arizona, unless critical to the mission of the district," stated Richard Santos District 3 and 2010 Board Chair. The Santa Clara Valley Water District urges the U.S. Congress and the president to address outstanding immigration issues. �

Los Centros de Ayuda al Contribuyente del IRS en Oakland, San Francisco, San José y Walnut Creek seguirán ayudando a los contribuyentes a solucionar sus asuntos tributarios.  El Personal del IRS estará disponible para ayudar con acuerdos de pagos, información sobre auditorías, la preparación de sus declaraciones de impuestos y cualquier otro asunto tributario el 5 de junio.
